UPDATE: SR 13 Expected to be closed until late evening, early morning

SYRACUSE — SR 13, between CR 1000N and Syacuse-Webster Road is now expected to be closed until late this evening, Wednesday, May 14, into the early morning of Thursday, May 15.
Turkey Creek Township Fire Territory Fire Chief Mickey Scott, reported around 8:30 p.m. tonight, that SR 13 will remain closed longer than anticipated.
Crews from REMC and NIPSCO are at the scene working to neutralize three major electrical power lines on the electric pole, which was broken off when a dump truck struck the pole at the intersection of SR 13 and CR 800N at approximately 4 p.m. today.
The pole carries electric to the southern portion of Syracuse and portions of Lake Wawasee.
Until the power is neutralized, the dump truck cannot be removed and the pole replaced and service restored.
The detour from the north is SR 13, west to CR 1000N, then south on Syracuse-Webster Road. Traffic from the south is being rerouted south on the Syracuse-Webster Road, east on CR 1000N to SR 13.
There are traffic control crews on SR 13.
