WARSAW — A group of persons from the Kosciusko County Democrats gathered at The Beaman Home, Warsaw, Thursday, May 8, to host a Mother’s Day event for clients at the shelter.

The group brought joy, creativity and connection through fun activities like crafts cookie and cupcake decorating and more.

“We are very thankful to groups like the Kosciusko County Democrats taking the time out of their day to celebrate our clients that for some of our clients this is the first holiday. They are experiencing free from fear and it means so much to staff that people in the community,” said April Slone executive director at The Beaman Home. She encouraged others to take the time to put on a special Mother’s Day event for survivors of domestic violence.
