ANSWER: SHARI BENYOUSKY
I was born at Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw, while my father was attending Grace Seminary in Winona Lake. Though I didn’t grow up here, my childhood was marked by movement as my father pastored churches across the country — from Ohio to California, Wisconsin to Florida and finally to New Mexico, where I graduated from Cibola High School near Albuquerque.
For many years, I’ve been a professor in the English Department at Purdue Fort Wayne while also running my own company, SB Communications LLC, which specializes in freelance writing projects. I’m best known for my Diners and Dives column in Inkfree News, which recently celebrated its 100th installment—a milestone I’m incredibly proud of.
My three children all graduated from Warsaw Community High School and are now forging their own paths, with exciting careers and studies taking them to Florida, Philadelphia and DePauw University. Deeply invested in my community, I serve on the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Board, the Sheriff’s Merit Board and the Steering Committee for the Downtown Cultural Arts Committee.
