NORTH WEBSTER — Northwest Bank has donated $1,000 to the Dixie Sternwheeler, a historic landmark and popular tourist attraction on Webster Lake.
The grant will support structural repairs, engine and mechanical upgrades, interior and exterior improvements, safety enhancements and historical preservation efforts.
The Dixie Sternwheeler, an iconic symbol of North Webster, has been taking visitors on scenic cruises for decades. The donation will help to ensure the boat remains safe, operational and enjoyable for future generations, the bank said in a news release. As a key attraction, the Dixie Sternwheeler draws numerous visitors to North Webster, boosting the local economy through tourism-related spending on accommodation, dining and other activities.
“We are thrilled to support the Dixie Sternwheeler and contribute to the preservation of this important piece of our community’s history,” said Gwen Fuchs, financial center manager. “Our donation will help maintain the boat’s legacy and ensure it continues to be a source of joy and pride for residents and visitors alike.”
