Milford Man Arrested For Criminal Recklessness With Firearm
Staff Report

Kyle James Najacht
MILFORD — A Milford man was arrested for allegedly shooting a firearm into the air while arguing with a person on the phone.
Kyle James Najacht, 31, 307 S. Higbee St., Milford, is charged with criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, a level 6 felony; and unlawful possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer, a class A misdemeanor.
On April 18, officers with the Milford Police Department and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at a Milford residence. It was reported that Najacht discharged a firearm in the air while arguing with someone. Officers located two spent shotgun shells in the residence’s front yard.
According to court documents, the person who reported the incident said Najacht was arguing while he was on the phone and fired two rounds in the air. The person provided a video of Najacht with the firearm.
Najacht told police he shot the firearm two times. He admitted it was a poor decision and that he wasn’t supposed to possess a firearm due to a prior domestic battery conviction.
Najacht was previously convicted of domestic battery in Kosciusko County in January 2021.
Najacht has already been arrested and released on bond.
