Celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week in Kosciusko County

WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Convention & Visitors Bureau is celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week Sunday, May 4 through Saturday, May 10.
Some ways residents and visitors alike can celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week in Kosciusko County include viewing the Kosciusko County Visitor Guide online or picking up a print copy. The digital guide can be found on the convention and visitors bureau website.
Established in 1983, National Travel and Tourism Week is an annual tradition, celebrating the United States’ travel community and travel’s essential role in stimulating economic growth, cultivating vibrant communities, creating quality job opportunities, inspiring new businesses and elevating the quality of life for Americans every day.
According to research from Placer.ai, Kosciusko County welcomed 1.2 million visitors in 2024. The Tourism Economic Impact Report conducted in 2024 through Rockport Analytics and a partnership with Indiana Development Corporation shows Kosciusko County visitors spent $186.3 million and generated 2,145 jobs in Kosciusko County. Tourism generated $19.6 million in state and local tax revenue in Kosciusko County last year.
With all the convention and visitors bureau’s marketing efforts combined, they reached 1,264,419 potential visitors in 2024.
“Travel and tourism benefit our workforce, supports our local economy, fosters sustainability, encourages innovation, and is critical for bringing growth to our community. We hope that visitors and residents alike take time this week to celebrate travel & tourism by engaging with our community,” said Cori Humes, executive director of the Kosciusko County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The convention and visitors bureau has created seven free digital passports called the Engage Kosciusko Passports which are available on its website. These passports offer entry into drawings for Kosciusko Cash and other prizes.
In addition, the visitors bureau has a series of Outdoor Spaces brochures and maps with lists of all the beautiful outdoor recreation opportunities available in Kosciusko County, including Trail Spaces, Nature Spaces, Blue Spaces, Play Spaces and Art Spaces.
