News Release
BRISTOL — Elkhart Civic Theatre’s production of the courtroom drama “12 Angry Jurors” opens Friday, May 9 at the Bristol Opera House, 210 E. Vistula St., for a two weekend run.
The play is directed by Demarée Dufour-Noneman assisted by Leah Alburtus. Elkhart Civic Theatre’s season is underwritten by Laura and Jack B. Smith Jr., and Gaska Tape, with PBS Michiana/WNIT as media sponsor.
In the play, a 19-year-old man is on trial for murdering his father. It’s a seemingly open and shut case until one juror begins opening the others’ eyes to the facts. “We have nothing to gain or lose by our verdict,” says the juror. “We should not make it a personal thing.”
And yet, it does become personal. Tempers grow short, tension mounts, and the room becomes a hotbed of anger. The final verdict and how they reach it reveals the complexity of human nature and the tenacity of truth.

Jury foreman Vincent Bilancio intervenes as Jurors Brent Graber on the left and Kevin Egelsky on the right nearly come to blows in the courtroom drama 12 Angry Jurors, opening May 9 at Elkhart Civic Theatre’s Bristol Opera House.
Originating as a television drama entitled “12 Angry Men,” the stage adaptation became a 1957 motion picture starring Henry Fonda.
