Program Teaches How To Guard Against Scams

WARSAW — People around the world are affected by scams every single day, and a local program aims to keep people safe.
“Staying Scam Safe” will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at the North Webster Community Public Library, 110 E. North St., North Webster. Shannon Shepherd, Purdue University Extension health and human sciences educator in Kosciusko County, will present the free, educational program.
The program will cover common types of scams, provide proactive steps a person can take to protect their information, and show where people can go to report scams or frauds that have taken place.
