ETNA GREEN — Winona Powder Coating, Etna Green and Elkhart is again featured in the current issue of leading trade magazine Products Finishing.

In this case, the article, titled “40 Under 40” celebrates young professionals in the products finishing industry. Winona’s own Cortnee Hyser is featured. Winona is the largest provider of finishing services in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan, and one of the very few companies that specialize in both E-Coat and Powder Coat finishes.

Hyser, who works in the Etna Green headquarters facility, started her career at Winona in May 2020. Her initial responsibility was to manage the pretreatment chemistry and paint tanks in a new indexing e-coat line. This line is a 17-stage pretreatment, paint and rinse line with each stage containing approximately 3,500 gallons.

Responsibilities expanded in July 2020 to assume monitoring of the onsite waste treatment system. With volumes beginning to exceed the town’s capacity to treat, Hyser was instrumental in obtaining the NPDES permit enabling the company to completely treat water onsite. Hyser assumed full control of managing the waste treatment for not only the e-coat line, but also two additional high volume powder coating lines with 5-stage pretreatment on each.
