Milford Public Library — Adult Reading Club Grand Prize Winners Named

MILFORD — This year, Milford Public Library had six grand prizes to award to six lucky participants in the Adult Reading Club, “Color Our World.” They had 58 participants in the club this winter. Viv Blakeslee and Mary Fisher each won a theatre ticket to the Blue Gate Theatre. Mark Plank and Julie Gunden each won a meal at the Blue Gate Restaurant. Jaclyn Thompson won a classic room for one night at the Blue Gate Garden Inn. And Michelle Kuntz won a one-night stay in a lakeview or courtyard room at the Oakwood Resort. Congratulations to all the winners.
Peep Diorama Contest
Get creative and join in for the Peeps in the Library Diorama Contest at Milford Public Library. Everyone is invited to participate. They will provide each participant or group with a pack of Peeps to use in crafting a diorama inspired by a book, literary character, movie or TV show. Once your masterpiece is complete, simply drop off your diorama and a completed entry form during library hours by Saturday, April 19. Voting will take place the week of April 21, with winners announced on April 28. Prizes will be awarded and winning dioramas will be showcased on social media.
April LEGO Challenge
Thistle be the best LEGO Challenge yet. Spring into action this April and start building a LEGO umbrella to celebrate spring. And remember — you need to submit a picture of your creation to [email protected] for a chance to win an amazing LEGO prize. This challenge began April 5 and ends April 25.
Story Time — It’s The Buzz Of The Season
Bee-lieve in the power of spring as story time resumes. Story Time begins this week on April 16. They will be reading about “Spring has Sprung.” Join in at either the 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. sessions on Wednesday’s downstairs in the children’s department. There are wonderful stories to listen to, crafts to make and snacks to share. Spring it on.
Let Your Mind Blossom This Spring
Find a new book to read at the Milford Library this spring. Get more knowledge on gardening with books such as “Container Gardening” by Paul Williams, “Garden Projects” by Robert Gandy and “Garden Stone” by Barbara Pleasant. Read about landscaping with “Landscape Planning” by Judith Adam, “Natural Landscaping” by Sally Roth and “Gardentopia” by Jan Johnsen. Find a new book to put a spring in your step this season at MPL.
