WARSAW — As April rolls on, Warsaw Community Public Library has plenty to offer for both adults and children. Whether you’re a regular attendee or just looking to try something new, here’s what’s happening at the library in the next couple of weeks.
For Adults
Popular recurring programs are back, including the Genre Book Club at 6 p.m. Monday, April 14, where readers explore a different genre each month and swap recommendations. This month, they’ll discuss poetry and bring suggestions for nonfiction books for May. Euchre players are invited to gather from 2:30-4 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. The Creative Writing Club meets that same evening at 5:30 p.m., and members will share their writing focusing on the themes of April Fools, books, and/or lost and found. Chair Yoga also returns at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, for gentle mobility and stability practice for all levels. Beginning Knitting is taking place again at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. Whether you’re brand new or looking for a refresher, all are welcome, but registration is required.
For those looking to get a little creative, join us for a Popsicle Birdhouse Craft for Adults at 6 p.m. Monday, April 21. All supplies are included, but registration is required. Senior adults can explore their creative side during a Theatre Improvisation session at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 24. Led by former high school theater teacher Dana McAfee, the session is open to anyone 60 and older who enjoys trying something new. No experience is necessary, and registration is required.
At 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, Kosciusko Drug Free will lead a Parent Café session focused on connection and conversation among parents and caregivers. Topics will include social media, bullying, friendships and more. Light refreshments will be served. To close out the month, Purdue Extension educator Emily Kresca will present a gardening program at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, covering how to plan and prep for a successful growing season.
For Kids And Families
Young children can enjoy stories, songs and early learning fun at Toddler Story Time at 10:15 a.m. Wednesdays, April 16 and April 23, and Preschool Story Time at 10:15 a.m. Friday, April 25. Another great option for younger children is Kids Picture Bingo from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, April 14. This easygoing game uses pictures instead of numbers and is designed for young players, with small prizes and a flexible come-and-go format.
At 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, tweens ages 9–12 can explore Irish culture through a special program featuring crafts, food and fun facts about Ireland’s traditions and landmarks. Registration is required, but there’s no cost to participate.
Families can end the month with a round of cards at Family Uno from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 28. Bring your favorite deck or use one provided by the library and stay for one game or the whole evening.
