SYRACUSE — Dozens of children and their families gathered the morning of Saturday, April 12 at Lakeside Park for the annual Syracuse Easter Egg hunt, hosted by the Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department.
The event was divided into three age groups. The youngest group, ages 0-3, kicked off the fun at 10 a.m., followed by children ages 4-6 at 10:30 a.m., and ages 7-10 at 11 a.m. Children were encouraged to bring their own Easter baskets to join in the hunt.
At the age 4-6 hunt, eager kids dashed across the lawn to collect brightly colored eggs, while parents looked on or helped by holding baskets. Each child who returned their eggs received a treat, and those lucky enough to find a golden egg — three were hidden per age group — earned a special prize.
Also making an appearance was the Easter Bunny, posing for photos and greeting excited children. Volunteers helped hide eggs and distribute prizes.
The entire event brought smiles and excitement to families.
