Teaching Tuesday Spotlights Fraud Prevention and Identity Theft Awareness
News Release
MILFORD — Lake City Bank Branch Manager Brooke Williams and Milford Town Marshall Tom Waikel, are joining forces with The Milford Collective and the town of Milford at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 for a special Teaching Tuesday class focusing on fraud prevention and identity theft awareness.
This educational initiative will provide attendees with valuable insights on safeguarding personal and financial information in an increasingly digital world. The event is free to attend and held at the Milford Community Building, 111 S. Main St., Milford.
Each Tuesday in April, informal discussions are being held aimed to equip community members with the knowledge they need to stay safe and successfully use their technology.
“We are excited to collaborate with Brooke and Tom to educate our community on best practices for fraud prevention,” said Karena Wilkinson, Milford Community Event Coordinator and Milford Collective representative. “Smartphones and tablets are becoming important tools in our lives. Learning how to effectively use them as well as protect ourselves from scammers is crucial in today’s society.”
Teaching Tuesdays sessions throughout April are free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.
