Elkhart Extension hosts Backyard Poultry Educational Program

GOSHEN — Do you have an interest in owning poultry in your backyard?
Learn about what goes into raising and properly caring for poultry by attending this backyard poultry program.
Covering breed selection, types of housing, nutrition, health, and biosecurity, these topics are meant for people that are just getting started or those want to know what they need before purchasing poultry.
The free program is open for all to attend and will be presented by Purdue Extension Educators, John Pietrowski, and Kathryn Jennings.
The program will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the Elkhart County Extension Office, 17746 CR 34, Goshen, with access into the building through the west side doors.

Programs of the Purdue University Extension Service are open to all ages. Any accommodation requests to participate in programs can be directed to Kathryn Jennings at (574) 533-0554 by Tuesday, May 6. All participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
