PIERCETON — A man was arrested for allegedly battering a woman in Pierceton.

Jason Alexander Emmanuel English, 41, Gary, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

On April 2, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Winona Lake Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance at a Pierceton gas station. Dispatch advised a woman was covered in blood and a man was yelling at her.

According to court documents, the woman said she and English were driving when English grabbed her upper arms and thighs. When the woman told him not to put his hands on her, English punched the woman in the face.

Officers noticed bruises on the woman’s arms and thighs.

English told police the woman freaked out and was spitting in the car. He said the woman poked him in the eye, leading him to poke the woman’s nose. Officers did not notice any signs of irritation or injury near English’s eye.

English has already been arrested and released on bond.
