Goshen Man Arrested After Motorcycle Pursuit With Police

GOSHEN — A Goshen man was arrested after a motorcycle pursuit with police that ended in Kosciusko County.
Michael A. Leach, 33, 709 N. Chicago Ave. Apartment 3, Goshen, is charged with resisting law enforcement with a prior conviction, a level 5 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On March 14, a Goshen Police officer noticed a motorcycle with no tail light and license plate. When the officer attempted to pull them over, the motorcyclist fled, resulting in a high-speed pursuit.
According to court documents, the motorcyclist, later identified as Leach, traveled at speeds over 100 mph in a 50 mph zone. During the pursuit, Leach disregarded a stop sign. The pursuit continued into Kosciusko County, with Leach disregarding a stop sign at CR 1350N and CR 500W.
Eventually, Leach’s motorcycle crashed into a ditch, with Leach attempting to flee on foot before being apprehended by police. Upon searching his person, officers found 0.7 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Leach has a prior conviction for resisting law enforcement in Elkhart County in 2015.
Leach has already been arrested in Elkhart County and released on bond.
