Warsaw Man Arrested On Multiple Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested on multiple drug charges during a traffic stop.
Jason A. Waikel, 46, 1200 Meadow Lark Blvd., Warsaw, is charged with dealing methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; possession of cocaine and unlawful possession of a syringe, both level 6 felonies; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Jan. 2, an Indiana State Police trooper noticed a vehicle in Warsaw with a false and fictitious registration plate. The trooper pulled the vehicle over and identified Waikel as its driver.
According to court documents, the trooper was aware that Waikel had a history of drug use and requested a K9 at the scene. The K9 made a positive alert on Waikel’s vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers found 13.8 grams of meth, 0.5 grams of cocaine, two hypodermic needles, and drug paraphernalia.
Waikel told the trooper he purchased the drugs locally, buying about a half ounce of meth.
Waikel has already been arrested and released on bond.
