Nostalgic Girl-Group Musical The Marvelous Wonderettes Coming To Bristol

ELKHART — “The Marvelous Wonderettes” comes to the Bristol Opera House 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 4 in a look back at the music and culture of the 50s and 60s, when female vocal groups filled the airwaves. The production is directed by Brock Butler and assisted by Marla Miller, with musical direction by Heidi Ferris and choreography by Cristian Marquez. The show is underwritten by Indiana Trust Wealth Management.

This Off-Broadway musical starts at the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy: four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. As viewers learn about their lives and loves, the girls sing ‘50s hits including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.”
In Act II, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. The girls reveal the highs and lows they have experienced in the past decade, they find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together. Featuring over 30 ’50s and ’60s hits, “The Marvelous Wonderettes” is a musical trip down memory lane.
