MILFORD — Advance construction signs have appeared and even some pre-construction work has begun at the bridge over Turkey Creek, on Beer Road east of Milford. The signs announce the start of a bridge replacement project.

While the sign indicates the road closure will be on or about Tuesday, March 25, Steve Moriarty, county highway superintendent, stated the closure will begin Monday, March 24. Closure is expected to last six months.

The project is federally funded and according to the Indiana Department of Transportation website, the total cost of the project is $1,971,164, with the cost to the county at $87,000. LaPorte Construction has been awarded the bid. Photo by Lauren Zeugner.
