CULVER — A Culver woman was arrested for allegedly using a cord to batter a child.
Kylie Breann Sanchez, 28, 18076 Latonka Trail, Culver, is charged with domestic battery resulting in bodily injury to a person under the age of 14, a level 5 felony.
On March 3, a Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of Sanchez using a cord to hit a child.
According to court documents, a woman said Sanchez texted her about hitting the child. The woman had a person bring the child to her residence in Culver. The child had extreme swelling to their left eye, and a red welt in the shape of a folded cord underneath their eye.
The child said Sanchez hit them with the cord twice.
Sanchez told police she had been stressed out and went to hit the child with the cord while the child was leaning over a bathtub. She said the child moved, causing her to hit the child in the face.
Sanchez was booked in the Marshall County Jail on March 3.
