ANSWER: Â C. AUSTIN ROVENSTINE
I was raised on a farm just south of Atwood, and today I reside in town. I am the seventh generation of the Rovenstine family to call Atwood home.
I graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 2006, from Wabash College in 2010 and from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2013. I worked at Creighton Brothers in the summers throughout my education and became an associate attorney at the Miner & Lemon law firm in 2014. I became a partner in 2021, and the firm was renamed Lemon, Keirn & Rovenstine. I have a general practice, but I specialize in criminal defense, which I view as my calling.
I attend the Atwood Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where I serve as the liturgist. I am a member of the Atwood Lions Club. I serve on various boards and committees, including the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative, the Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council and the Kosciusko County Community Corrections advisory board.
Politics is a lifelong hobby. I have served as a delegate to every Republican State Convention since 2006. I am the Republican precinct committeeman for Prairie 2. I am also the Republican member of the Kosciusko County Election Board and the secretary of the Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee. In the latter role, I have attended many political caucuses and sworn in many newly elected officeholders. I don’t know if InkFreeNews readers will recognize me in a picture where I don’t have my right hand in the air administering an oath of office.
I am the son of former Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine and former jail cook Robin Rovenstine, and the brother of Caleb Rovenstine, who works at Baker Youth Club. They have each affected countless lives for the better, and I’m very proud of them.
