Injuries Reported In Rochester Structure Fire

ROCHESTER — At approximately 10:45 p.m. Friday, March 14, the Rochester Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on the 800 block of Main Street.
The incident involved the residential upper level of a mixed-use commercial and residential building. Thick smoke and flames were visible from the upper floors as first responders arrived on the scene.
Multiple injuries were reported, with victims being transported by Parkview EMS. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed.
Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire, successfully controlling and extinguishing the fire within ten minutes of the initial 911 call. Despite the swift response, the structure sustained significant fire and smoke damage, particularly in the residential section.
The Rochester Fire Department was assisted by Henry Township Fire Department, Kewanna-Union Township Fire Department, Rochester Police Department, Indiana State Police, Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Parkview EMS, and Duke Energy.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Officials have not ruled out any possibilities, including electrical malfunctions or accidental causes. Further information has not yet been, but updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
