SYRACUSE — Joe Cazier, Turkey Creek Township Trustee, reported the desks are set up and he met with the computer tech about setting up the computer network in the new space. Cazier made his report during the regular meeting of the Turkey Creek Township Advisory Board Monday night, March 10.
The trustee’s office will be moving into the annex building next door to Fire Station I on the north side.
Cazier told the board he’s discussing setting up a shared drive between the trustee’s office and the fire department so invoices could be dropped off and dealt with.
Because of the public assistance work Cazier does, his office is on a separate network from the fire department’s.
Cazier has filled out forms for work to be done in four of the seven historical cemeteries in the township.
Cazier requested approval to contract with Net Results for $1,192 for computer software.
In the fire report, it was noted there is no policy for daily expenses when firefighters are out of town on business. Fire Chief Mickey Scott suggested the board consider $50-$80 per day for meals and 20% tips.
Matt Dunithan, board president, suggested Scott do some research and come back next month with a proposal.
The board approved $8,893 for emergency lights on Scott’s Tahoe; approved purchasing a fire training box; and concrete work for the fire training box.
A fire training box allows firefighters to train with hose pressure and water flow while recycling the water instead of letting it run off into the ground.
In old business, the board approved Cynthia Curtis to the library board and James Boone and Robert Dumford to the Turkey Creek Regional Sewer Board.
Cazier presented some quotes for numbers and shutters on the annex building. The trustees approved the cost not to exceed $1,000
Cazier also asked about approaching a neighbor who has a tree limb hanging over the building. He was concerned damage could be done to the roof if the limb came down. Dunithan suggested talking to the property owner first. If that didn’t work, have Steve Snyder, township attorney, send a letter.
