KYLA Group Collecting Supplies for Joe’s Kids
News Release
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — A group of area Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy members are conducting a donation drive for Joe’s Kids now through Saturday, March 22.
Every year KYLA groups of members pick a community service project to address a need they see in the community. After hearing Michelle Bikel speak about Joe’s Kids at one of their meetings juniors Emerson Krull and Taelyn Tom, Wawasee, and Brooklyn Roberts, Triton, were inspired to help the program.
Joe’s Kids provides physical, occupational, speech therapy, dyslexia therapy, and tutoring services for local children to reach their full potential. Often supplies are sent home with the kids they help so that they can continue to work on their skills at home.
To help the kids practice much-needed skills with their caregivers each week, the group is collecting the following items:
- Safety Scissors
- Construction Paper
- Thick Crayons
- Markers
- Play Doh
Drop boxes have been placed at the following locations:
• Wawasee High School – Main Office
• Trition Jr/Sr High – Main Office
• Harvest Coffee – Milford
• The River – Warsaw – (for monetary donations only)
