Pierceton Woman Arrested For Allegedly Stealing From Warsaw Meijer

WARSAW — A Pierceton woman was arrested for allegedly stealing merchandise at the Warsaw Meijer.
Tea Marie Peltz, 26, 111 N. Washington St., Pierceton, is charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor; and theft with a prior conviction, a level 6 felony.
On March 12, 2024, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a theft report at Meijer. A loss prevention employee said he saw Peltz switching tags and under-ringing merchandise while she was in a self-checkout aisle.
According to court documents, the employee confronted Peltz and confirmed she was in possession of several items she did not pay for. When she heard law enforcement was requested, Peltz left the store. She left all the merchandise she had in her possession at the store, including the items she paid for.
The total value of the unpaid items was $260.44.
Peltz has a prior theft conviction in Kosciusko County from February 2021.
Peltz has already been arrested and released on bond.
