WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested for allegedly battering a man and resisting arrest.
Angelita Charlene Garcia, 34, 1613 E. Clark St., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, a level 6 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
On Jan. 21, Warsaw Police officers responded to a fight at a residence. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Garcia, who said a man and woman at the home asked to borrow her vehicle to take some children to Fort Wayne.
According to court documents, Garcia said she was frustrated when they were gone for 2 1/2 hours and told the man she was going to “swing on him” when he got back. Garcia told officers she slapped and bit the man’s face.
Five children were at the residence during the incident.
While being taken into custody, Garcia allegedly tensed up and tried to pull her arms away. She also slipped one hand out of a pair of handcuffs as officers arrested her.
The man told officers Garcia slapped his face and bit him. Officers noticed a red mark on the man’s left cheek. The woman at the residence said she saw Garcia hit the man.
Garcia has already been arrested and released on bond. She has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in Kosciusko Superior Court Three.
