Speakeasy Soiree ‘An Immersive 1920s Experience’
News Release
GOSHEN — What’s old is new again — at least for one night.
“Moonlight and Moonshine: A Speakeasy Soiree” is set for 8:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at The Goshen Theater, 216 S. Main St., Goshen.
Tickets can be purchased online at goshentheater.org. They are also available at the theater box office from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.
Ticket purchase includes music, appetizers, a welcome drink, and — per event organizers — “a night filled with shenanigans.” Jazz combo The Dean’s List will provide entertainment.
“It will be very much an immersive 1920s experience,” said Goshen Theater program director Adrienne Nesbitt, adding that period clothing is encouraged but not required. “It really is a fun night to go full Prohibition era.”
“The Goshen Theater was built in 1907 and has some really cool nooks and crannies,” she said. “They lend themselves to the reality of what some of the buildings and some of the spaces would have looked like in the 1920s.”
“Moonlight and Moonshine” is a joint venture between The Goshen Theater and Art House, both not-for-profit entities.
