WARSAW — Kosciusko Economic Development Corp. looks to fill the old LSC Communications campus, formerly known as R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., with a yet-unnamed company that could create thousands of jobs.
In fall of 2023, LSC Communications shut down. By fall of 2024, KEDCO was negotiating a deal to fill the site.
“That campus, in its prime, was a major employer,” said KEDCO Executive Director Peggy Friday.
Friday said KEDCO wanted to ensure they found a company that was a good match for the county’s needs.
“(We were looking for) a company that is sustainable. (Kosciusko County is) heavy on orthopedics, manufacturing, agriculture and recreation.
Information about the new company is still under wraps as agreements are being finalized.
Friday says over a period of time, the company could create 2,000 jobs. KEDCO is already looking at attainable housing projects and workforce development initiatives.
Friday praised the county for working to fill the campus quickly: “The campus didn’t stay empty long. Not all communities can claim that. I think it’s commendable.”
If everything goes to plan, the company will be announced this spring.
