NORTH MANCHESTER — Four new members, including two alumni, have joined Manchester University’s board of trustees.
They include Isabel Santner, Dr. Steve J. Knaus, Debra Mishler and Richard P. Teets Jr.
Santer, of Bloomington, graduated from Manchester in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She earned her master’s in accounting from Manchester in 1999. She had a career in real estate tax services and consulting before retiring in 2024. She also serves on the boards for Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County and the Children’s Organ Transplant Association.
Knaus, of Indianapolis, is an internal medicine physician at Ascension St. Vincent. Since 2009, he has served as an associate program director of the Ascension St. Vincent internal medicine residency program, where he leads resident training in primary care and ambulatory medicine. He graduated from Manchester in 2000 with a degree in biology-chemistry and then earned his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine.
Mishler, of Phoenix, is the daughter of Manchester alumni Ruth Wilson St. John and Virgil St. John, who donated a chemistry lab, among other gifts to the university. Her husband, Rick Mishler, graduated from Manchester in 1974, and their two children also went to Manchester. Mishler herself graduating from Purdue University in 1977 and later earned a master’s in health services administration from Arizona State University. She has worked as a pharmacist and hospital pharmacy resident across the United States.
Teets, of Butler, is a co-founder of Steel Dynamics Inc., based in Fort Wayne. He was an active member of Manchester’s board from 2014 to 2023 and now has begun his third term. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College in 1977 and a master’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University in 1982. At the time of his retirement in 2016, he was SDI’s executive vice president, as well as president and chief operating officer of steel operations. SDI is the third largest steelmaker in North America, producing more than 13 million tons of steel annually. He was the recipient of an honorary degree from Manchester at Commencement 2024.
Trustees serve five-year terms.
