WARSAW — February may be the shortest month, but Warsaw Community Public Library has packed it with a wide variety of events for all ages. Whether you’re looking for engaging activities for kids, relaxing hobbies for adults or opportunities to learn something new, there’s something for everyone at the library this month.
Families can kick off the month by celebrating Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, Feb. 1. Drop by for Kids Yoga to encourage movement and mindfulness, or build something amazing during Library Lego. Later in the month, family-friendly favorites include Elementary Chess on Tuesday, Feb. 4, Kids Picture Bingo on Monday, Feb. 10, Family Board Games on Tuesday, Feb. 11, and Family Uno on Monday, Feb. 24. These events are open to all skill levels and provide the perfect opportunity for family bonding and making new friends.
For our youngest patrons, Toddler Story Time and Preschool Story Time occur at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday and Friday mornings. These programs nurture early literacy through stories, songs and hands-on activities.
Adults will find plenty to enjoy as well. Relax and stretch with Chair Yoga at 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 5 and 19, or learn more about gardening during Starting Seeds on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Blood Pressure & CPR Training at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, and 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, is presented in partnership with Stone Rager from Heartcorp. This hands-on workshop teaches essential skills that can help save lives.
Craft enthusiasts have some great options this month as well. Learn to knit at Beginning Knitting on Monday, Feb. 3. Get creative at the Wreath Valentine Craft session on Wednesday, Feb. 12. And if you’ve ever wanted to try diamond painting, the Diamond Painting event on Tuesday, Feb. 25, offers an excellent introduction. All materials are provided at these free events, but space is limited, so registration is required.
Finally, the Genre Book Club will discuss autobiographies on Monday, Feb. 10, and look at historical fiction options for March. Writers can also connect with like-minded individuals at the Creative Writing Club on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The theme for February is short stories that explore all sorts of love. Both programs are open to all adults and require no prior experience.
