Former Elkhart Coach Arrested For Child Molesting

ELKHART — A former Elkhart coach was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a child over 10 years ago.
Tyler David Collins, 33, 25747 Kiser Court, Elkhart, is charged with child molesting, a Class A felony; child molesting and two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, all Class B felonies; and sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 4 felony.
On Dec. 11, 2024, an Elkhart County detective interviewed an adult about Collins starting a sexual relationship with them in 2012. According to court documents, at the time of the incident, the victim was 13 years old, and Collins was 20 years old. Collins was also a bowling coach at Signature Lanes and a coach at Concord High School at the time.
The victim said Collins engaged in sexual activity with them from April 2012 until September 2014. They gave specific details on multiple locations where this occurred, and the type of vehicles Collins drove at the time.
The detective confirmed the types of vehicles the victim said Collins drove at the time with records listed by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
In an interview on Jan. 16, 2025, Collins admitted to being in a sexual relationship with the victim, with the relationship ending in 2015.
Collins was booked in the Elkhart County Correctional Complex on Jan. 16.
