EOIR Opens Indianapolis Immigration Court

INDIANAPOLIS — The Executive Office for Immigration Review opened a new immigration court in Indianapolis on Monday, Jan. 27.
The Executive Office for Immigration Review is an agency within the Department of Justice. EOIR’s mission is to “adjudicate immigration cases by fairly, expeditiously and uniformly interpreting and administering the Nation’s immigration laws. Under delegated authority from the Attorney General, EOIR conducts immigration court proceedings, appellate reviews, and administrative hearings. EOIR is committed to ensuring fairness in all cases it adjudicates.”
According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice, the new office was opened to meet the growing needs of Indiana stakeholders. The Indianapolis Immigration Court will have seven immigration judges. EOIR will provide official advance notice to all parties whose cases are reassigned to the Indianapolis Immigration Court.
The court will be located in the Minton-Capehart Federal Building, 575 N. Pennsylvania Street, Suite 600. It will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office’s phone number is (317) 464-1399.
