News Release
MILFORD — The Friends of the Milford Public Library hosted a book signing Jan. 16. Author Russ Moe signed copies of his book, “What It’s Done to Us: The Mystery of God’s Control.” In this book, Moe tackles the hard question: Is God truly in control when life spirals into chaos? In “What’s It’s Done to Us,” you follow along a journey towards intimacy with a God who is present in the darkest of times, there with a guiding hand when we need it most. This book is for people who’ve asked what God’s role was in life’s tragedies and have struggled to reconcile faith with the brokenness of the world. A big thanks to Moe for signing copies of his inspirational book.
Bring A Puzzle, Take A Puzzle
Have you discovered the Puzzle Lending Library in the adult area of the Milford Library? There are several different puzzles to choose from. They also accept jigsaw puzzles from members of the community as part of the puzzle exchange program. You are welcome to take a puzzle, put it together and then return it for another puzzle. If you’d like to donate a puzzle, please make sure any puzzle donated has all the pieces. Happy puzzle building.
Winter Story Time Begins Feb. 5
We’re less than a month away from the regularly scheduled Wednesday story times. So get ready! Registration is currently open and they welcome children ages 3-6 to join in for a “cooler” than ever Winter Story Time. Just head to the children’s department and sign up. Several awesome kids have already signed up, but they have plenty of room for more to join the fantastic group.
They will have sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays, so you can choose the time that works best for your family. Story time lasts about 45 minutes. There are wonderful stories to listen to, crafts to make and snacks to share. Make sure to join in this February as story time resumes.

The month of love is right around the corner. And what better way to celebrate it than building a LEGO heart and submitting a picture of your creations to [email protected] for a chance to win an amazing LEGO prize. February’s challenge begins Feb. 5 and ends on Feb. 25. Need ideas? Try reading “LEGO Awesome Ideas” by David Lipkowitz.
Brrr-ing On The New Books And Movies
Congratulations! You’re almost finished with January. To celebrate, be sure to swing by the Milford Library and check out the newest DVDS such as “The Wild Robot,” an animated film for young and old alike, or Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Nickelodeon series especially popular with teens. Don’t forget the newest fiction books like “Never Say Never” by Danielle Steel (which we have in both regular and large print), “Shattering Dawn” by Jayne Ann Krentz (an intriguing mystery with just a little bit of romance thrown in) and how about the book “The Shred Sisters” by Betsy Lerner (a bittersweet story of a family and the complexities of sisterhood, love and loss).
