COLUMBIA CITY — A Columbia City woman was arrested for allegedly battering two children.
Leslie B. Allison, 43, 2093 E. Bobwhite Lane, Columbia City, is charged with domestic battery resulting in bodily injury to a person under the age of 14, a level 5 felony; and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, a level 6 felony.
On Dec. 25, 2024, a Columbia City Police officer responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence. The officer received information about Allison kicking a child’s bedroom door down, breaking a mirror and hitting the child.
According to court documents, one child at the home said another child and Allison had a verbal argument. When the child went into a room and locked the door, Allison allegedly kicked the child’s door to open it and began hitting the child. When the other child told Allison to stop, she began to go after the other child, throwing a hairbrush at the back of their head and breaking a mirror.
The officer noticed one of the children had scratch marks on their neck and face, and a broken fingernail. The other child sustained a mark to their head and their back.
While inside the home, officers noticed a shattered mirror and broken hairbrush. They also noticed a door that was splitting.
Allison left the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. The two children who were injured during the incident were taken to a local hospital.
Allison has already been arrested in Whitley County and released on bond.
