Kentucky Man Arrested By Rochester Police For Firearm Theft

ROCHESTER — A Kentucky man was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop and found him in possession of a stolen firearm.
Jordan Thomas Norris, 30, Lexington, Ky., is charged with theft of a firearm, a level 5 felony; and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
On Dec. 1, 2024, a Rochester Police officer pulled over a driver on US 31 for speeding. Upon pulling the vehicle over, the officer saw the driver’s side door begin to open.
According to court documents, when approaching the vehicle, the officer immediately smelled marijuana. Norris was identified as the vehicle’s driver. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a firearm and marijuana. Officers determined the firearm was reported stolen from a location in Georgia.
Norris said the firearm was not his and that he was bringing it to an individual in South Bend.
Norris has already been arrested and released on bond. He has an initial hearing at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, in Fulton County.
