Paul G. Mangun

Paul Mangun
Paul G. Mangun, 74, of rural Mentone, passed at 5:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital of Warsaw.
Paul was born Dec. 9, 1950, in Starke County. He was the son of the late Robert W. and Clara M. (Hill) Mangun and found his wife in Stephanie A. Voyles, whom he married on Sept. 7, 1991, in Tippecanoe; she survives.
For 32 years, Paul worked at Dalton Foundry, taking on numerous roles and always striving to make things more efficient. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and all shooting sports. He also raised UKC-registered beagles for rabbit hunting and in younger days raced motorcycles and worked on all things mechanical.
Paul and Stephanie cherished their weekends dancing and traveling, especially to Montana. Family gatherings were a source of great joy for him.
He took immense pride in the accomplishment of building his own home, using the skills he had acquired. As a father, Paul was always there to teach and support his children. He assisted with many construction and plumbing projects, but his greatest joy was simply being a dad.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Mangun, of Mentone; children, Andrea McMillan, of Michigan, Heather Banghart, of Fort Wayne, Joshua Banghart, of Mentone, Jessica and husband Elton Yeazel, of Goshen, Jeremiah and wife Ashley Banghart, of Walkerton, and Cody Mangun and Megan Conley, of Silver Lake; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Donald and Mary Mangun, of Milford, and Rosemary Patrick and Pam Milton, of Plymouth.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; infant sister, Cindy; sister, Wanda Patrick; and brothers, Eugene and Ralph Mangun.
No services will be held at this time.
The arrangements have been entrusted to King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.
Donations can be made to the local charity of the donor’s choosing, or plant a tree in Paul’s honor.
