Tigers Open With New Haven Track Title

NEW HAVEN – It was a welcomed return for the Warsaw girls track program. The Lady Tigers took on some of the Fort Wayne area’s finest and came away with a team title at the New Haven Invitational over the weekend.
Warsaw scored 146 points to best the field, chased by Leo (118.5), Huntington North (98) and Fort Wayne Carroll (96) among the 10-team field.
Marin Hart led the Tigers in a pair of events, taking the title in the 100 hurdles with a 16.61 and clearing 5-4 in high jump. Josie Niebbia vaulted 9-6 to win pole vault and the Tiger 4×100 relay also claimed honors at 52.06.
Runner-up finishes for the Tigers included Lillian Boston in the 100 dash (13.43), Erika Bugg in the 400 (1:04.32) and Abby Sanner in both throws, the shot put (35-0) and discus (106-4).
Warsaw returns to New Haven next Saturday to take part in the Bulldog Invite.
