News Release
NORTH WEBSTER — As 2024 ends, North Webster Community Public Library is proud to reflect on a year filled with exciting programs and events that brought the community together.
Among the highlights was the “Matter of Balance” series, run by the Purdue Extension, which ran three times this year by patron request. Each of these 24 sessions focused on helping older adults stay active and confident. Each session reached full capacity, underscoring the importance of this program.
In April, the Solar Eclipse Watch Party drew an incredible 206 attendees, creating a memorable day of science, wonder and togetherness. Meanwhile, creativity thrived in the adult craft classes, which saw over 100 participants throughout the year as they explored new skills and made beautiful projects.
One of the year’s standout successes was the launch of the “Whisk and Sizzle” cooking classes. With 75 participants joining the sessions, the cooking librarian, Sherrie, guided attendees through the art of making delicious meals in a fun, engaging environment.
The library’s collaboration with the Warner School House brought local history to life for 61 attendees, combining education and connection in a truly special way. And, of course, the enthusiasm of the youngest patrons stole the show during the summer reading challenge, with 368 children taking part in reading and 4,077 participating in the library’s daily crafts, games, music and other educational programming.
The library is incredibly grateful to their patrons, staff and volunteers for making these programs such a success. As they look ahead to 2025, they are excited to continue providing opportunities for discovery, creativity and connection in the community. Thank you for being part of another incredible year at the North Webster Community Public Library.
