Warsaw Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
Staff Report

Joseph Khiev
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a woman he previously harmed less than one year ago.
Joseph Khiev, 40, 1177 N. Slateview Court, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery with a prior conviction, a level 5 felony.
On Dec. 22, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a fight at a Warsaw residence. A woman said Khiev pulled her down by her wrist. She was later taken to a local hospital for injuries she sustained to her wrist.
The deputy then spoke with Khiev, who appeared to be under the influence. According to court documents, Khiev said he “probably nudged” the woman, causing her to fall. He said it was also possible he pushed the woman.
Khiev has a prior battery conviction in Kosciusko County from February. The woman involved in the December incident is also the victim in the February case.
Khiev was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 22.
