Warsaw School Board Seeking To Fill Vacant District 3 Seat

WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools is looking to fill the vacancy on its school board.
Indiana law requires WCS to promptly fill District 3’s vacant seat on the school board, which runs through Jan. 1, 2029.
State law requires the remaining school board members, by a majority vote, to fill the vacancy by appointing a person who meets all residence and other qualifications required of a regularly elected board member.
Indiana law, WCS’ election plan and school board policy require the following of a candidate for this seat on the Board of School Trustees to possess the following qualifications:
- an American citizen;
- a registered voter;
- 21 years of age or older; and
- a resident within the school corporation boundaries and District 3 continuously for two years immediately prior to the date of the appointment.
- no felony conviction
- cannot simultaneously hold another elected office
- if selected, cannot be an employee of WCS
