VALPARAISO — A statewide Silver alert has been issued for a Valparaiso man.

The Porter County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the disappearance of William Powers, an 86-year-old white male.

He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds and has blonde hair with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue suit jacket, collared shirt, gray pants and driving a silver 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with Indiana license plate TK656MBH.

Powers was last seen at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10. He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
