Parkview, Ortho Northeast Expand Surgical Services In Fremont
News Release
FREMONT — Parkview Health and Ortho Northeast, also known as ONE, have partnered with four physicians to operate the Lake George Surgery Center in Fremont. This joint venture strengthens the organizations’ shared mission of delivering accessible health care and represents a step forward in meeting the surgical needs of residents in Steuben County and surrounding communities.
Located at the Fremont Outlet Shoppes, 6245 N. Old 27, Ste. A10, the 7,988-square-foot multi-specialty facility is equipped to deliver comprehensive surgical services. With two operating rooms, one procedure room and eight patient bays for pre- and post-operative care, the center provides capabilities for general surgery, endoscopy, orthopedics, ophthalmology and podiatry.
“Our partnership with ONE continues to present exciting opportunities to offer high-quality, specialized surgical care closer to the communities we serve,” said Dr. Alan McGee, president, Parkview Health Orthopedics. “The skilled physicians, dedicated staff and state-of-the-art facilities at Lake George Surgery Center align perfectly with our mission to deliver excellent care and expand access to critical services in the region.”
The team at Lake George Surgery Center includes surgeons Dr. Richard Hartman, Dr. Akram Daoud, Dr. Joseph Holicki and Dr. Christopher Bussema.
“This partnership represents an exciting evolution in our commitment to providing exceptional surgical care,” said Dr. Richard Hartman, president, Lake George Surgery Center. “By combining our team’s extensive experience with Parkview Health and Ortho Northeast’s proven track record of excellence, we’re enhancing our ability to deliver surgical care in a convenient outpatient setting. Our physicians have spent over 90 collective years building trusted relationships within the community, and this collaboration allows us to expand our services while maintaining the personalized care our patients expect. The partnership ensures our community members can receive state-of-the-art procedures close to home, with shorter recovery times and lower costs than hospital-based care.”
A new fellowship-trained orthopedic provider will join the team in February 2025, bringing additional capabilities in orthopedic care to the center.
“By combining resources and expertise, this joint venture strengthens our ability to offer cutting-edge outpatient surgical solutions tailored to the needs of Steuben County residents,” added Lori Pagan, chief executive officer of Ortho Northeast. “We’re proud to build on the strong foundation of LGSC and provide greater convenience and accessibility to our patients.”
Parkview and ONE currently operate Parkview SurgeryONE, located at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, and recently broke ground on a new ambulatory surgical center and medical office building in Warsaw — set to open in October 2025. Additionally, Parkview operates an ASC on the Parkview Southwest campus and announced early this year a collaboration with Surgery Partners to expand ambulatory surgery centers across the state of Indiana.
Ambulatory surgical care provides surgical services at the lowest possible cost of care. Parkview is partnering with ONE and the independent physician partners at Lake George Surgery Center to work to reduce the total cost of care through its expanding ambulatory care locations that complement its physician and hospital locations. Decreasing health care costs remains a focus for Parkview Health, which committed in 2020 to $1 billion in rate reductions over five years to further reduce the cost of care in northeast Indiana.
Lake George Surgery Center will maintain its full range of surgical services. Operating hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information or to schedule a consultation, contact the center at (260) 833-6100.
