3 Departments respond to Salman Drive Fire

Firefighters continue to remove siding and other materials from the southeast side of the home where the fire had broken through.

WARSAW — Three fire departments responded to a house fire at 311 Salman Drive, Warsaw, in the Pheasant Ridge Edition, at 8:43 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory received the initial call with the dispatch center reporting the occupant found a fire in a closet. Winona Lake and Claypool fire departments were immediately called for a full assist.
According to WWFT Capt. Brian Zehring, acting battalion chief at the scene, fire had broken through the southeast corner of the home.
No further details are available.
According to the Beacon mapping system, the home is owned by the Shoemaker Irrevocable Family Trust, Scott W. Shoemaker and Carrie L. Foster trustees.
