Warsaw Man Arrested For Seriously Injuring Person In Battery Incident

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a man who sustained a black eye and broken nose during the incident.
Shilo A. Wilkerson, 45, 221 S. High St. Apartment E2, Warsaw, is charged with battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony.
On Nov. 23, officers with the Warsaw Police Department and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office were advised of a welfare check at a Warsaw residence. Upon arrival at the scene, officers noticed a man who was bleeding and requesting medical attention.
According to court documents, the man had blood all over his face and a bandage over his left eye. His left eye was freshly swollen and about the size of a golf ball. The man said he heard someone knock at his door. When he opened the door, Wilkerson started to hit him.
Wilkerson was also at the scene and told officers he didn’t know what happened and that the man injured him. Wilkerson had fresh blood on his chin.
A witness said she heard the commotion and saw Wilkerson pounding on doors in a hallway. She told officers she saw Wilkerson enter the man’s home, sucker-punch him, and throw the man to the floor.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where medical personnel determined he sustained a broken nose.
Wilkerson was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 23.
