Fire Departments Called To Attic Fire On Antler Drive, Warsaw

WARSAW — Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory with a full assist from Winona Lake and tanker from Plain Township responded to an attic fire at 1154N. Antler Drive, Warsaw, this morning, Thursday, Nov. 28.
The fire call came in around 10:20 a.m. following a report of a fire in the attic at the Antler Drive residence. A full assist by WWFT was requested.
A police officer, who was first at the scene, reported heavy smoke at the residence.
Initial reports is the fire may have been caused by a woodburning stove. Firefighters removed the embers from the woodburner and extinguished hot spots in the attic’s insulation. Fans were used to remove smoke from the home.
According to the county’s GIS system the home is owned by William and JoAnn Bowerman.
