Ronald L. ‘Cotton’ Bailey
Ronald L. “Cotton” Bailey, 56, of rural Claypool, passed at 8:52 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
Ronnie was born on Oct. 3, 1968, in Warsaw, to Luther and Annie (Manns) Bailey. He worked as a maintenance technician at Dalton Foundry and as a welder at Par-Kan Co. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on old cars and carpentry. He was a proud grandfather who cherished spending time with his grandson, Jordan.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his kids in the local area. He also had a passion for watching wrestling, UFC and the Green Bay Packers. As a child, Ronnie loved playing football and took karate classes. Ronnie was known for his big heart, caring nature and love for helping others.
He is survived by his children, Sasha and husband Cody De Leon, of Akron, and Derek Bailey, of Warsaw; grandson, Jordan De Leon; parents, Luther and Annie Bailey, of Claypool; sister, Lesa and husband Roger Blanton, of Mentone; Charley and wife Penny Bailey, of Akron; and Aimee and husband Michael Dunn, of Brentwood, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Bailey, in 2013.
The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Ward Allen and Mike Risner officiating.
The interment will take place in the Akron Cemetery of Akron.
Visitation hours will be held 10-11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory for his grandson, Jordan.
