Linda L. Leslie — UPDATED
Linda Leslie, 71, passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024.
Linda was born in Indianapolis on Jan. 28, 1953, the daughter of the late Leroy Masterson and Rosemary Martin. She graduated from Twin Lakes High School. Linda shared more than 25 wonderful years with her partner, Valerie Kirkpatrick.
Linda proudly worked as a dispatcher for the North Webster Police Department before opening Kid’s Countryside Daycare, where she worked for nearly 20 years before retiring. She touched the lives of many children and proudly earned the affectionate title of “Mamaw.”
In every role she took on — as a partner, parent, grandparent or homemaker — Linda embodied strength, compassion and pride. She was passionate about reading, especially historical books focused on war, along with thrilling novels by authors like Stephen King. Linda was an avid television watcher, and her favorite shows were cooking and game shows. Her love for animals was boundless — there was never a hungry cat under her care, and she rescued many dogs throughout her life.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Tracie (Brandon) Cooper; three grandchildren, Brittany (Darryn) Zartman, Brianne Willis and Brooklynn Cooper; and three great-grandchildren, Emma Zartman, Quentin Zartman and Ophelia Willis.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and her partner, Valerie, who passed away on June 15, 2024.
Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services is entrusted with Linda’s care. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Mock Cemetery, 4782 N. 850E, North Webster.
