Donald Dempsey Ratliff Jr.
Donald Dempsey Ratliff Jr., age 54, of Ligonier, passed away at 12:14 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at Parkview Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born on April 28, 1970, the son of Donald Dempsey and Gloria (Nelson) Ratliff in Goshen.
Don will be greatly missed by his children, Heather Ratliff, of Middlebury, and Cody (Baylee) Ratliff, of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Lincoln Ratliff and Waylon Dempsey Ratliff, both at home; his mother, Gloria Caudill, of Leburn, Ky.; two sisters, Missy Ratliff, of Syracuse, and Sondra Ratliff, of Howe; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father on May 25, 2004.
Don graduated from West Noble High School in 1988. He currently worked at Crossroads in Topeka and had worked in the RV industry for more than 30 years. Don had a great love for his grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them, whether it was riding four-wheelers or dirt bikes with them or cheering them on while they played sports. He was always there and never missed a game. Don also loved Corvettes and basketball and was a huge Kentucky Wildcats fan.
A funeral service will be held in Don’s honor at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier. Pastor Scotty Ritchie will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service. Family and friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Yeager Funeral Home. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Sunday.
