Animal Welfare League Hosting Thanksgiving Lunch For Shelter’s Dogs
Press Release
PIERCETON — The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County is bringing the spirit of Thanksgiving to some of its most loyal companions: 85 dogs, to be exact.
This year, the shelter is hosting a special Thanksgiving lunch for its furry residents, treating them to a festive feast they’ll never forget.
“We all feel like we spend just as much time with our shelter pets as we do with our family and friends,” a representative shared. “So, it only seemed right to give them a taste of that same love and gratitude we share around the table with our loved ones.”
Complete with dog-friendly dishes crafted especially for the occasion, the meal is a heartwarming reminder of the bond between humans and animals. The shelter hopes the event will inspire others to reflect on the importance of animal welfare and consider adopting a furry friend this holiday season.
The AWL is celebrating with shelter pets from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 21 so staff can all be present for the celebration luncheon.
Each staff member is preparing a pet-friendly dish to share.
After all, Thanksgiving is about family, and for many, that family includes four-legged friends.
