PIERCETON — A fire south of North Webster was called in by a passerby this morning, Monday, Nov. 18, on SR 13.

Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory, Turkey Creek Fire Territory, and Washington Township-Pierceton Fire and Rescue were all called to the scene at 1344 N. SR 13, Pierceton. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes. Fire crews got the call around 8:20 a.m. from someone driving past the scene about a garage fire.

The property owners are listed on Kosciusko County’s Beacon GIS website as Michael and Michelle Camacho. They were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. The garage is located behind the home.

No word on the cause of the fire, according to Kenny Gunkel of Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory.

The area will be closed for awhile while firefighters finish working at the scene while the fire is being investigated.
